How to Boost Your Immunity



In times when everyone is out there buying up the world's supply of toilet paper it might be more important than ever to take your immune system seriously. Our immune system is like our special defense unity that works around the clock to protect our bodies and prevent us from getting sick.

These  are just a few of the ways that you can naturally BOOST your immune system.

1. DRINK YOUR WATER. 
These days most people are aware that the human body is made up of 60% water. However, they are still not consuming enough water on a daily basis. It only makes sense that our body NEEDS water to run properly and to flush all of the toxins out. If you are struggling to get in your water every day make it a CHALLENGE! 

2. EXERCISE. 
Did you just cringe. Hey listen I am right there with you exercising is not my favorite thing either. It is debatable whether this actually boosts your immunity but it does help anti bodies and white blood cells circulate in your body more rapidly. This allows your body to detect illness quicker. Don't think that you need to go sign up for a marathon. Just 20 minutes a day will make a huge difference. If you can not get outside sign up for one of the many at home workout programs available.

3. EAT HEALTHIER.
 Lay off the fried food and sugars for awhile and see how your body reacts. You need to be feeding you body enough nutrients through out the day to allow your immune system to perform at its best. If you are consuming a lot of sugar you are actually weakening your immunity. If you are having a hard time getting in your fruits and veggies I have list of supplements that I HIGHLY recommend.

4. GET PLENTY OF SLEEP. 
Yes, sleep is actually something that is really important to our health. This is because when we are sleeping our body does repairs and builds our immune system up.  It might not always be the easiest to get sound sleep, especially if you have kiddos! For optimum health you should be getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep. If you are having a hard time sleeping I recommend grabbing your self a eye mask and a diffuser with lavender.

5. TRY TO REDUCE STRESS. 
This is a hard one that many of can't seem to get done. Life has a way of continually throwing curve balls at us and increasing our stress levels. You might notice that in times of your life when you were highly stressed that you experienced being sick more frequently. This is because when we are stressed our body can not fight off infections as it should because we are losing sleep, not eating correctly, and putting our health on the back burner. Cortisol fights stress and inflammation but by being stressed all the time our body builds up a tolerance to Cortisol.

6. SUPPORT YOUR GUT HEALTH
This is something that so many of us neglect. Did you know that 70-80% of our immune cells are located in our gut. We should really be making our gut a priority. How do you do this? Make sure that you are on a quality probiotic. I take one that is both a probiotic and prebiotic. Your diet is going to play the biggest role in your gut health. One thing I also highly suggest is giving your gut a chance to rest and try out intermittent fasting.


I hope that this information helps you understand how you can naturally defend yourself from getting sick! There are so many other things that you can do including supplements, vitamins, etc.
