8 Tips For Black Friday

Do you wait all year for Black Friday?
Or do you avoid the crowds and the ads?

No matter how you feel about Black Friday there are some amazingly good deals to be had during this over produced sales weekend.

Personally, I am more of an online shopper. Every once in awhile you can find me bundled up and carrying around an extra large coffee waiting to snag the items on my list.

This year I plan on joining the crowds and tackling my Christmas wishlist's.

Here are a few of my {Tips and Tricks} for Black Friday shopping!
Make sure to also check out the next post for the best deals I have found so far.

1) Gather your Christmas Wish Lists

We all have people on our lists to get presents for during the holiday season. Get an idea of what you want to purchase for each of them and put them all on a MASTER LIST. This master list is going to help you get all your loved ones exactly what they want/need!

2) Make Your Budget

If your anything like me you will see things in the store and randomly purchase them, that is a quick way to go WAY over your budget. You have to go in with an idea of how much you are going to spend. Break it down using your Master List. Each person on the list allocate a certain amount of your budget. If you have wiggle room in your budget to add yourself make sure you also do that. It is also the best time of the year to stock up on the items we personally need!

3)  Make A List of Your Favorite Stores

There are an overwhelming amount of both chain stores and online stores today. There is no possible way that you can hit every one of them. Once again using that master list that you made figure out which stores are going to get the most of your list crossed off. Put them in order of importance. Once you have your list of stores go online and see what time their sales start. This will help you have a plan of attack.

4) Don't Forget to support LOCAL and MLM companies

Don't get so wrapped up in the idea of chain stores that you forget to shop some of your favorite boutiques and support you fellow boss babes. Many direct selling companies are going to have HUGE Black Friday sales. Let's be honest some of the best products on that market today are found in home based businesses.

5) Get on Lists and Join Rewards Programs

Be the first one to know when the Black Friday deals hit. Many of the reps for your favorite products already have lists going for their customers for BF sales. Join e-mail lists of boutiques that you have been in love with but can't afford. You will also want to become a part of rewards programs for any of the stores you plan on shopping at.
((Side Note: My company is going to have an AMAZING BF sale. I am going to be helping everyone on my list take advantage of that and grab a FREE hair product. If you want on my list comment below or hit the FOLLOW button on the right hand side!))

6) Download A Cash Back App

This is really something you should have all year long gathering cash back for you. A popular and SECURE app to use is called DOSH. This app links your debit/credit card and scans for all potential cash back opportunities. No need to scan receipts. This app carries almost every online chain store you can think of and many of your local stores and gas stations. If you plan on making any large purchases this will be a must for you!
You can download the app using this link
When you link your card you will automatically get a $5 reward!

6)  Focus on Brands/Products That Rarely Go On Sale

Again, it is really easy to get sucked in to all the ads and sales. Keep in mind that sales is all about strategy and marketing. If you have seen a product on sale already this year there is a good chance that it will go on sale again. However, there are things that never go on sale! Those are the items that you want to focus your money on!

7) Be Prepared on Black Friday

We all know that this day can start early, end late and be very overwhelming. The best and only way to avoid the day becoming a complete disaster is being prepared. There are a few very simple things that you can do to make your day more enjoyable.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
Plan your route.
Make sure your phone is fully charged and bring a portable charger.
Take your ads with you.
 Have a driver.
If possible bring your family with you and make it a family outing! <3

Working From Home- The Real Struggle

Blissful... that's what you think when you hear someone works from home, right? You automatically get those visions of that person in their pajamas all day, not getting out of bed until noon, having their house clean at all times and enjoying every Netflix show available. What you probably don't see are all the challenges and obstacles that come from working from home.

Let's just start off by being truthful and saying I do in fact have some of those BLISSFUL days. The ones where I don't wake up until Kinley does and I refuse to do anything productive. However, I can not run a successful business like that and I will not get very far in my career with a mindset like that.

I strived for years to be able to work from home. Every New Years Day I would put it on my vision board. I imagined what it would be like to have no one telling me when to be somewhere. To have complete control over my own schedule. Most importantly, not putting on my bra until it was absolutely not an option to go without. A short 1.5 years ago I was able to make that dream my reality. I work from home full time. I don't say that I am a stay at home mom because Kinley still goes to her grandmas at least 3 times per week. We are very blessed that they live so close.

Maybe it is just my personality. Maybe I am the only person that works from home that struggles. I have a hard time believing that though, this has to be a common thing. I will continue to tell myself that when things get hard.

Looking from the outside in... you don't see the struggles. I surely never did.

When your given that much freedom in your schedule you start to take advantage of it. You become extremely relaxed in your daily routine. That's where I was until about a two months ago. I had NO ROUTINE. I was still very productive but it came in spurts. It is easy to become disconnected and lazy when you are working from home. You have to become very self disciplined and strict with your routine. For some people, like myself, that is not something that I was wired with; I had to train my brain to work from home.

Working from home is truly a BLESSING. I can be with my family when ever I choose. I can take vacations whenever we want. I can now stay at home in bed when I am feeling under the weather and not feel guilty about calling in sick. Working from home is something to STRIVE for but it is also something that you are going to have to WORK to keep!

Here are some of the tips and tricks that I have learned over the past year

1)  Get up and get READY.

Just because you work from home doesn't mean you have an excuse to not get ready for the day. Getting yourself ready shifts your mindset. So get up take a shower and put on real clothes. Yes... I mean put on a BRA. While the pajamas and no bra thing is comfortable it also tricks your brain into thinking it is time to rest.

Tell your time how it is going to be spent. Allocate time for house work, social media, Netflix, etc. If you don't have a plan for your day your day will get away from you. Start with housework in the morning so it wont be a distraction to you during the day. Set your work hours and try to stay active during those times. Knowing the hours that you are the most productive is key. I am not a morning person but can really crank out some work before lunch!

I literally can not live life with out my planner. I vacation with my planner, I run errands with my planner. It goes every where with me. Not only do I have my schedule in my planner but  I also have my goals, to do lists, inspirational quotes, etc. It keeps me on track! Here is the one I use it is called the Law of Attraction Planner and you can find it here

Have a space in your home that is designated for you to work. Allow that space to reflect your personality. Add items that inspire you and give you joy. Pictures of your family, inspirational quotes, flowers, etc.  If you don't have a good space in your home that you can get motivated in try going to a library, or a park and working for a few hours. I love the library!

If you have children at home make sure you give them your time as well. I mean that's why we work from home right, to spend more time with our kids. Think of their schedules when you create yours. Don't let your day get away and feel guilt for not being present with them.

I think one of the hardest things about working from home is that everybody thinks your just watching Netflix. You have to let your loved ones know that you have office hours and what they can expect from you during those hours. If you are trying to crush some goals and get stuff done let them know that you are going to need some non interrupted time. They don't know what you do unless you share it with them. Be open and transparent.

If your working from home or just a stay at home mommy trying to find some structure, keep your head up! You can do this and it can be an enjoyable experience. <3

Using My Voice- The First Post

Today I sat in church and took my normal Sunday afternoon outline notes. Yes, I am the girl that you will find doodling and taking excessive notes during the sermon. As I sat there next to my husband who finds my doodling and note taking a little strange, I wrote a few words down that hit me like a freight train.

Do you have an unfinished assignment from God?

I mean talk about a question to be asked on a Sunday morning only half way through your first cup of coffee. Now, for me this question got my brain going a million different directions. My note taking stopped. My doodling stopped. I was completely taken aback by this question. My own questions started to come in at rapid fire  pace. Was I using my god given gifts to serve others in an impactful way? Am I too consumed with making a name for myself rather than making a difference? Do I even know what my god given gifts are? And what the heck is my assignment from God?

To be honest, I didn't like my answers.

I have built a platform through my business adventures over the past couple years. It has gone through different stages. Some of those phases being fun, a real hoot you could say, and some of them being miserable.

I have felt a little lost the past couple months with what to do with the platform. Not sure which direction to go and what the next step for me is.

Something you should know about me right off the bat. I am a DREAMER but I am not always a DOER. Yup, I am one of those people. You know the ones right? The people that are always sharing with you their big ambitions and how they are going to change not only their lives but going to change the world. You hear them talk, you get excited for them to the point where you start dreaming big for you self. But then.... well then real life hits. I have 100% certainty in my abilities to make an IMPACT and  to become a success in what ever I put my mind too. There lays the problem... my mind!

Another thing I should probably fill you in on is the fact that I suffer from anxiety and depression. That subject is for another day though. Trust me we will discuss that more. I have let that hinder my progression for many years. I start something, something that I know I can do and do great and I ALLOW that anxiety and depression to hold me back. Hold me back from completion. Why? Maybe, I am afraid of what success actually looks like for me? Will I be able to handle it? Will people accept me on my bad days when I brought them in on a good day?

We all struggle with it. The voice that tells us that we are not good enough. That we don't deserve the success and happiness that we desire. The difference for some people is the ability to persevere to the other side of those thoughts. Don't get me wrong, some days I kick ass. I mean I really dominate the industry I am in and I kill the mom and wife game. That's the thing about depression though. There is no rhyme or reason to when it hits you. I could be having an absolute amazing day. I mean everything is going right and then all of a sudden it's like my mind takes a sick day and decides to check out for the day.

I realized something though. When it hits me the hardest is when I am the closest to making an impact, to putting my feet where my mouth is and getting to work on my dreams. See what I realized is that I do in fact know my God given assignment. It's simple... I have been given the ability and the platform to make a difference. I have been given a VOICE and I have been given something to talk about. They say that the closer you are to doing God's work or something that is in God's favor the more opposition you will get.

I get so caught up in knowing what is at the end, what is in store for me if I keep going a certain direction. The thing is when you are doing God's work you will NEVER know the ending.

We started studying the book of Haggai this Sunday in church. Again, if I am going to be transparent with you I have NEVER heard of this particular book before; let alone had I studied it.

Something that stuck out to me as Pastor Scott was speaking were 3 simple steps.
1) Go to the Mountains
2) Bring down the timber
3) Build my house

Now my brain was on over drive and I was thinking to myself okay so I get the three steps but what happens in between and after those three steps. I want all the details before I start.

The steps after don't matter. We are responsible for the obedience, not the outcome.

So this blog is my first step of obedience. We live in a society that is driven by technology and influenced by social media. I have started a platform already and I guess its about time I put it to good use.

I am going to share with you in this blog my authentically FLAWSOME self. Somedays that might mean getting real emotional and other days that might mean I share with you some things that give me joy!

Ok lets stop and be real.... I have no idea what you should expect from this blog. All I know is that I am starting it!

Now... if you made it all the way to the end of this, THANK YOU. Thank you for taking the time to read it and hopefully you will continue to be with me on this journey!
